a perfect imperfection

Imperfection is beauty; madness is genius. And its better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring. -Marilyn Monroe

Thanks Theresa!

I wish I could take credit for this picture, but it was sent to me by my sister. I thought it was one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. I did a bit of work on it, was too tempting not to. And the following sentences were written underneath, so I thought I'd copy them as well. Something in them spoke to me.
Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

a view from my window

I've been thinking alot lately about the saying "Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference". My life from this moment on is what I can change. Everything in the past is a lesson learned, no matter how difficult. Be the change in the world that you want to see.

Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.
Kahlil Gibran

5 years later

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
Life goes on. But I will never forget.
P.F. 9/11/01 You are in my heart and in my thoughts every day....and especially today. I miss you.

having kind of a pensive day

"Compassionate the mountains rise
Dim with the wistful dimness of old eyes
That, having looked on life time out of mind,
Know that the simple gift of being kind
Is greater than all the wisdom of the wise."
